Port Angeles fugitive still updating Facebook

PORT ANGELES, Wash. (AP) -- A Port Angeles man is on the lam but still updating his Facebook page.

The 26-year-old Travis A. Nicolaysen escaped from officers in two foot chases Wednesday and a dragnet that included a police dog tracking him through a residential neighborhood.

One friend posted to his account, "cops all over you." Nicolaysen responded a few hours later with "got away thanks bro."

Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith says Nicolaysen remains at large Monday but police hope he takes the advice of Facebook friends who are urging him to surrender.

The Peninsula Daily News reports he's been convicted of five felonies, including domestic violence, burglary and theft of a firearm. He's wanted by the state Department of Corrections for failing to check in with his parole officer since January.
