?Service dog? demonstrates work of local animal shelter; facility seeks donations to help abandoned dogs, cats

A few days ago at the Christian County Animal Shelter on Russellville Road, I met Amazing Grace (nicknamed Macy) an 11-year-old grey beagle. She and her co-worker, Patty Horton, had just returned from their weekly Thursday visit to Western State Hospital. Each Thursday morning, 8 o?clock sharp, Macy is up and ready, waiting for her ride to the hospital where she will make rounds on all four floors offering her therapy of unconditional love, a love only a dog can offer, a love that goes beyond reason and understanding.
