Held at Sandford Springs Golf Club, Kingsclere recently (Sep 31), a golf day to raise funds for Tadley Rugby Football Club was organised by Pump Technology in Aldermaston and raised ?6,200 for the rugby club.

A total of 132 golfers took part, utilising all three of the nine-hole courses at Sandford Springs. The first nine holes were played in Stableford format; the second nine as a Texas Scramble.

Five days prior to this, (Sep 26) Sandford Springs also hosted a 10th anniversary charity golf day to raise money for the Ark, a state-of-the-art independent medical education and conference facility, situated next to the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

Participating were 19 teams of four players, after a shotgun start at 1pm ? with a hole-in-one on the 25th hole, by Graham Devereux of Caviste, a wine merchant in Overton, who won a set of Callaway Razor X irons.

The annual event included a champagne reception, dinner, raffle and auction, raising a total ?5,000 for the Ark.
